The participation in the course can be canceled free of charge up to 14 days before the course starts. After that, the full fee will be due.
Participation fee (soloists):
· € 150,00 for active participation in master-classes which includes two lessons of 45 minutes each
Participation fee (Ensembles):
· Duo - € 80,00 for each active participant, 45 minutes each teacher (= 2 x 45 minutes)
· Trio - € 60,00 for each active participant, 45 minutes each teacher (= 2 x 45 minutes)
· Quartet - € 70,00 for each active participant, 60 minutes each teacher (= 2 x 60 minutes)
David Salleras is Selmer Paris and Vandoren Artist and his works are published by "Resolute Music Publications" (USA), "Edition Dinsic" (Spain) and "Edition Billaudot" (France).
Since 2008, David Salleras teaches at the National Conservatoire of Girona (Spain).
After finishing his studies at the Superior Music Conservatory of Barcelona when only 18 years old, he won a Spanish government scholarship to continue his studies in paris with Jean-Yves Fourmeau and Nicolas Prost receiving the highest qualifications. He also distinguished himself showing an outstanding sense of improvisation, blending classical, contemporary music and traditional music idioms. His flexibility and knowledge of multiple musical genres coupled with his unique ideas has resulted in a successfull career.
He is often invited as a solist, has given concerts and masterclasses in Europe and South Africa and his compositions are performed and recorded by saxophonists from around the world.
Marcus Weiss studied saxophone at the "Hochschule für Musik Basel" with Iwan Roth, as well as philosophy and saxophone (Frederick L. Hemke) at Northwestern University in Chicago.
In 1989 he won the soloist prize from the Swiss "Tonkünstlerverein".
Marcus Weiss performs as a soloist with numerous European orchestras and ensembles, as well as chamber musician with the Trio Accanto and the saxophon ensemble Xasax/Paris. He has collaborated with composers including: Mark Andre, Georges Aperghis, John Cage, Péter Eötvös, Eat Furrer, Vinko Globokar, Georg-Friedrich Haas, Toshio Hosokawa, Yu Kuwabara, Hanspeter Kyburz, Helmut Lachenmann, Misato Mochizuki, Giorgio Netti, Stefan Prins, Rebecca Saunders, Salvatore Sciarrino, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Nadir Vassena, who have written works for him. In 2010, the book The Techniques of Saxophone Playing was published by Bärenreiter.
Since 1995, Marcus Weiss has been a professor of saxophone and chamber music at the Basel Music Academy. He heads the specialized musical performance study program, contemporary music, which he co-designs with colleagues Sarah Maria Sun, Yaron Deutsch and Mike Svoboda. He regularly gives masterclasses at European (Paris, Madrid, London, Berlin, Vienna, Porto, Riga, etc.) and American universities. For many years, he has been a lecturer at the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music and the Ensemble Academy IMPULS in Graz. He also frequently curates festivals for new music (Rümlingen and Zurich).
